Career
Federer has had a great career and done some amazing things, like winning 20 Grand Slam men's singles titles and being at the top of the ATP Men's World Rankings for 302 weeks in total and 237 weeks in a row. Because of his great work, people called him "Maestro" or "GOAT" (the Greatest of All Time).


Federer began playing tennis at the age of eight and won the junior Swiss championship at the age of 14. He won the Miami Orange Bowl Junior Tournament and the Wimbledon Junior Singles Championship in 1998.


The next year, Federer joined the Swiss Davis Cup team for the first time. He also became the youngest tennis player to finish the year in the top 100 in the world, coming in at number 64.


In 2008, he won the men's doubles gold medal for Switzerland with Stan Wawrinka at Beijing.


Roger won the Australian Open in 2010, but he fell short at the French Open and Wimbledon. In 2011, he didn't win a Grand Slam tournament and fell out of the top three.


Federer reached the Australian Open semifinals in 2020 before undergoing knee surgery. Roger made it to the Wimbledon quarterfinals the next year despite not playing much.


The legendary Swiss player has stated his intention to leave the ATP Tour in September 2022. Federer announced his retirement from professional tennis following the Laver Cup in a touching message to the sports community. His final encounter, a doubles match with Rafael Nadal, was an emotional one.
