Rafael Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion and Kia ambassador, introduced the 130-strong Kia fleet this morning in preparation for the Australian Open 2023.
Kia has extended its connection with the Australian Open for another five years, until 2028, and the announcement was made during the fleet handover ceremony in Federation Square, making it one of Australia's longest-running sports sponsorships. Kia has supported the Australian Open for 20 years.
Kia is extending one of the longest collaborations in Australian sports by five years, Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said.
"Our collaboration with Kia has assisted the AO in growing into a globally recognized athletic and entertainment event."
The 2023 Kia fleet will transport Melbourne's players, officials, and VIPs in January. It contains more electric vehicles than ever, underscoring Kia's commitment to sustainability and carbon neutrality by 2045.
The partnership between Kia and the Australian Open will be on display all through the tournament. On January 22, Kia Sunday will return, and the Kia Wave activity on Grand Slam Oval will show off Kia's new EV6 GT.
The legendary Kia Arena will host several of the Australian Open's most memorable matches and the first-ever Finals Festival.
